Searzall Torch Attachment

This item is highly recommended

The Searzall was developed by David Arnold at the Booker and Dax Lab and funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign. The goal of the design was to improve the searing capability of the torch while at the same time eliminating some of the disadvantages such as torch taste. It works by connecting to an existing torch, the BernzOmatic TS8000, our Top Pick.

What We Like About the Searzall Torch Attachment

"Torch-taste" has never been a big issue for me, but the Searzall does a great job at eliminating it. It also helps make the heating more even, and reduces the occasional spot-burning you can run into by using a torch directly.

What We Don't Like About the Searzall Torch Attachment

The biggest disadvanged is that it works slower than using a torch by itself, which can hold up your dinner if you are cooking for a larger amount of people. It can also make your torch top-heavy and unstable, so make sure you use the squatter fuel tanks so it doesn't tip over. You also need to season the Searzall before using it.

Why We Recommend the Searzall Torch Attachment

The Searzall is slightly controversial, since many people swear by it, and many people don't like it. It changes the searing process and if you are having trouble searing in a pan or with a plain torch, it's a something that might be worthwhile for you to look into. If you are currently happy with your searing, then it's probably not worth the $75 (plus more if you don't have a torch already).
